Alex Mau, DVM, BSc
Dr. Alex Mau received his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Shortly after graduation he commenced a 12-month rotating internship in small animal medicine, surgery and critical care in one of Melbourne’s busiest referral hospitals, and stayed on for an additional 6 months as the interim Internal Medicine intern.
Early on in his veterinary education, he developed an interest in pathology and underwent externships in private diagnostic labs and went on to completed a continuing education course through the Centre for Veterinary Education (University of Sydney) in clinical pathology.
Dr. Alex Mau joined the RUSVM faculty in July of 2019 and has a diagnostic role in both clinical and anatomic pathology. When not looking down the microscope, he is a demonstrator for the Microanatomy, Pathology and Clinical Pathology courses and contributes to the teaching of the Clinical Pathology component of Introduction to Clinics.
