Gleeson Murphy, DVM, MPH, PhD, DACVPM

Adjunct Professor

Upon completion of his studies at Louisiana State University, Dr. Murphy entered the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps with assignments as Chief of Medical Toxicology for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland (2007-2011), Chief of Preventive Medicine and Veterinary Services for the U.S. Military Training Mission (USMTM) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2011-2013), and Chief of the Bacterial and Parasitic Diseases Research Program for the U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit-3 (NAMRU-3) in Cairo, Egypt (2013-2015). Throughout these assignments, Dr. Murphy maintained adjunct instructorships with the Community College of Baltimore County (Essex and Dundalk, Maryland) and the University of Maryland – Europe (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), where he taught pre-medical/pre-dental biology, anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. Dr. Murphy also assumed a leading role in human resource strategies for civilian employee evaluation and career progression at USAMRICD and NAMRU-3 with a goal of solidifying supervisory skills for new managers and increasing job satisfaction for employees in scientific/research laboratory settings.
