Uffe Christian Braae, MSc, PhD
Dr Uffe Christian Braae holds a PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology and an MSc in Parasitology from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr Braae is a skilled researcher with experience in human and livestock field epidemiological studies, clinical trials, and surveillance of zoonotic diseases and foodborne pathogens. Dr Braae has more than eight years of experience working with Taenia solium in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He has managed several projects focusing on exploring the transmission dynamics of T. solium and the impacts of various intervention strategies, including treatment of the human population for taeniosis. Dr Braae has used tools such as computational modelling and GIS to gain further knowledge on the epidemiology of T. solium and the impacts of various control strategies. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers.
