Krista James

Superintendent of Preparatory School

Ms. Krista is from New Jersey. She has a B.S. in Elementary & Special Education with a Minor in Information Technology from Monmouth University. She received her M.A. in Educational Leadership & Supervision from Caldwell College. She holds current Teacher, Special Education, Supervisor, Principal and Superintendent certifications in NJ.

Prior to moving to St. Kitts, Ms. Krista taught Technology to students in grades PreK-8 for eight years in the New Jersey Public School system. In addition, she served as a Special Educator, working with students with learning disabilities and physical disabilities with varying special needs. She also served as the District Technology Coordinator and ran multiple extra-curricular activities including: Student Council, Technology Club, Drama Club and an Intramurals Program and was a co-founder of the Gift from the Heart Volunteer Program.

After moving to St. Kitts, she spent three years teaching at SKI Academy where she taught grades three and four, and ran Photography & Technology Clubs with her students. She left the classroom to utilize her educational administrative skills, serving as Business & Development Manager for the Immaculate Conception Catholic School where she oversaw budgets, orchestrated fundraising events, ran staff in-service workshops, implemented technological initiatives school-wide, maintained the school website and helped draft policy for the school.

Ms. Krista is passionate about education. She believes in nurturing and supporting her students to help them realize and achieve their full potential. In her free time she enjoys reading, photography, going to the beach and spending time with her family.
