Amy Beierschmitt, BS, DVM

Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Amy Beierschmitt received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California Davis, Davis, CA, in 1991. After working for a year as an emergency veterinary technician, Dr. Beierschmitt attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and received her D.V.M. February 1995. Dr. Beierschmitt spent a short time in private veterinary practice while also taking the ECFVG exam and California State Veterinary Boards. In 1996, she took a Veterinary Fellowship in Non Human Primate Medicine and Surgery through Yale University and the Axion Research Foundation.

Following her Fellowship, Dr Beierschmitt joined the Behavioural Science Foundation in St. Kitts where she is the Attending Veterinarian and oversees a large breeding colony of St. Kitts Green Monkeys. In 2010 she joined the faculty at RUSVM teaching Intro to Clinics II, mentoring clubs such as ASLAP, ZEW and Pathology, and working as Attending Veterinarian. Since June 2014 she serves as the back up attending.
