Ph.D. student, Carla Rivera participated in the World Marine Mammal Conference in Barcelona, Spain where she presented a research poster related to the molecular parasitology of manatees during two different sections. Her findings document the manatee mortality in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean countries through histopathological analysis.

Congratulations to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine’s (Ross Vet) Dr. Matthew Valentine assistant professor, veterinary anatomic pathology and Patrick Kelly, clinical professor, and colleagues Chengming Wang, pathobiology professor, and Md Monirul Hoque, graduate student reporting the presence of Rickettsia felis in mosquitoes on St. Kitts, a research study that was recently published  in The Lancet Microbe.

Ross Vet's new Research and Pathology Building is a 19,000 square-foot facility dedicated to multidisciplinary research collaborations and providing an academic platform for students and faculty to address pressing One Health issues. It has 13,000 square feet of research space, a pathology wing, and expanded educational capabilities for our staff and students.
