Ross Vet’s Canadian Dollar Exchange Policy

At Ross Vet, we are committed to supporting our students by helping reduce the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the cost of their education. To provide greater predictability and protection, we’ve introduced a Foreign Exchange (Fx) Ceiling Policy, that places a limit on the exchange rate used when converting your Canadian dollars to U.S. dollars for tuition and fees, helping you plan your educational expenses with confidence.

Who is Eligible?

All new students starting in January, May, and September 2026 are eligible for the rate ceiling when paying tuition and fees in Canadian dollars (CAD) during the 2026 calendar year, no matter your program or citizenship.

How It Works

All tuition and fees are billed in U.S. dollars (USD). When payments are made in Canadian dollars (CAD), the Fx Ceiling Policy sets a maximum exchange rate of $1.40 CAD per $1.00 USD.

That means:

If the exchange rate goes above $1.40 CAD for every $1.00 USD, you’ll only pay at the $1.40 rate.
If the rate is below $1.40, you’ll automatically get the lower rate.
This approach helps protect you from sudden increases in exchange rates while allowing you to benefit from positive market changes.

Important Disclosures: Fees not included and account status

Fees Not Included: The $1.40 exchange rate ceiling applies only to the currency conversion rate. It does not include any additional fees such as bank charges, wire transfer fees, service fees, commissions, or credit card processing fees. Students are responsible for covering these transaction costs.
Account Status: Payments are applied to the oldest outstanding balance first. To remain eligible for this program, students should keep their accounts in good standing. The university reserves the right to remove eligibility for the rate ceiling if a student becomes delinquent on payments.

Ross Vet’s tuition and fees vary based on your academic program and where you are at in the curriculum.

Canadian citizens may be eligible for loans up to the full cost of veterinary school tuition through the Canadian government and/or private loan programs. Please refer to the Financial Planning Guide for Canadian Students (PDF) for more information.

Canadian Financial Aid Planning Guide

AWARD AMOUNT: $6,428.57 per semester, semesters 4 through 10. Life cap of $45,000.

Scholarship for students who have completed 48 college credits at an accredited university outside of the United States and Puerto Rico (i.e., if you are a Canadian resident studying in Canada, you could qualify). Only available to students starting in a January or May semester.

Knowing that Ross Vet is located in the Caribbean was a huge positive for me. I could not wait to get out of the cold and have summer all year round (versus other vet schools-Canada in particular). My favorite thing about the island is being able to experience a different culture. My friend and I participated in Carnival this past December and January. We bought costumes and marched in the parade. It’s something you don’t get to do anywhere else. I love St. Kitts!

McGill University Pathway Program

Ross Vet has partnered with McGill University to create a pathway to complete your DVM degree in as few as five years and four months¹! Students, who are enrolled in the BSc (AgEnvSc) Life Sciences Major and interested in pursuing this pathway, will spend time at McGill completing the pre-requisite coursework, and if the criteria is met, may apply to transfer to Ross Vet in St. Kitts to complete the DVM program.

A limited number of spots are available each semester.

McGill-Ross Vet Scholarship

$2,000 USD per semester for the first three semesters. Lifetime cap of $6,000.

Global Experience Scholarship

$45,000 USD total distributed in equal installments of $6,428.57 USD per semester between semesters 4-10 of the DVM program. Only available to students starting the January or May semesters.
