Graduate Program Requirements

Veterinary research has always been a passion of ours. From improved understanding of zoonotic and vector-borne diseases to protection of threatened and endangered species and ecosystems, our Graduate Studies programs provide our students with an innovative and advanced educational program that helps prepare them to become leaders in One Health.

ROSS VET GRADUATE STUDIES ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Our applicants are able to demonstrate a sustained interest in medical and veterinary research.

MSC by Research and PhD by Research candidates must hold:
  • A professional veterinary or medical qualification, or
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in the biological or biomedical sciences.
  • A master’s degree may be required for some PhD by Research Candidates or may be required to enroll in the MSc by Research program for a probationary period
MSC in One Health Degree and Graduate Certificate in One Health candidates must hold:
  • A professional veterinary or medical qualification, or
  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in the biological, biomedical, environmental, or ecological sciences

ENGLISH COMPETENCY

If English is not your primary language, or if you did not complete your undergraduate degree at a postsecondary institution where courses were taught in English, you will be requested to provide Ross Vet with your official record of scores for one of the following:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT — preferred minimum score on the computer-based test is as follows: 25 Listening; 22 Writing; 22 Speaking; 23 Reading.
  • IGCSE English (First language) Grade B — International English Language Testing System (IELTS) — 7.0
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic — 67
  • Cambridge English: Advanced & Proficiency overall 185

Applications are by invitation and will be reviewed in-line with our entry requirements and research expertise. If shortlisted on the basis of their application and supporting documentation, you will be asked to attend an interview by video- or tele-conference. Appointed candidates will then be issued a letter of offer which sets out the conditions of their degree and a mutually agreeable start date will be arranged. Offers must be accepted to finalize enrollment.

Applicants that fulfill the minimum entry requirements will be asked to attend an interview by video- or tele-conference. Once all materials have been reviewed and verified, and interviews completed, you will receive an unconditional offer of admission, which you must accept in order to enroll.
