Dr. Xue (known affectionately as “Dr. X”) received her Bachelor of Sciences in Animal Science from Rutgers University (2012) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University (2016). She subsequently completed a rotating equine internship at Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists (2016 - 2017) and went on to pursue a Large Animal Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Georgia (2017 - 2020). She is extremely passionate about furthering the field of donkey medicine and works extensively with the donkey teaching herd at RUSVM.
Dr. Xue’s research interests include but are not limited to endocrinology, asinine pharmacology, and medical education. She is also interested in bringing awareness to neurodiversity within the veterinary field, and using her own experiences as a neurodivergent individual to create novel teaching strategies that help address the learning needs of all students. She was awarded the 2023 Zoetis distinguished Veterinary Teacher award. Outside of work, she will most likely be found SUPing in the ocean.
