Dr. Hervé – Claude is a Veterinary Epidemiologist. He graduated as a DVM from Universidad de Chile in 2004 doing research in cattle traceability and livestock movement patterns. After a short spell in the Chilean National Fisheries Service, he moved to California to join the Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis, where he focused his research in Risk Analysis and aquatic species epidemiology. From there he moved to TiHo-Hannover Germany, where he complete a PhD in Epidemiology working with small rural farmers in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. Back to Chile in 2010 he started a small Veterinary consultancy company and joined Universidad de Chile as a Herd Health Professor in 2014. His main research area is antimicrobial resistance in livestock. He is passionate about reading and a volunteer firefighter since 2001.
