Sanet Kotzé, BVsc, PHd
Sanet qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa and joined the Veterinary Anatomy Department at the University of Pretoria (UP) after spending some time in private practice. She obtained her PhD in Anatomy in 1990. Sanet spent time as visiting lecturer at the Anatomy Department, College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, USA and taught anatomy at the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel. Upon her return to South Africa, she spent many years teaching human anatomy at various medical faculties in South Africa. During this time, Sanet retained contact with veterinary anatomy by acting as external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary anatomy courses at UP. She also acted as course reviewer for the veterinary anatomy courses at UP on behalf of the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC). Sanet is a lifelong member of the Anatomical Society of Southern Africa (ASSA) and served on ASSA council from 2007 to 2020. She attended and participated in numerous national and international anatomy and medical education conferences over the years.
