Souvik Ghosh, BVSc & AH (Gold Medalist), MVSc, PhD

Professor of Infectious Diseases, and Director of One Health Center for Zoonoses and Tropical Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Ghosh has an interdisciplinary teaching and research experience, encompassing the fields of Veterinary and Medical Virology, Molecular Epidemiology, Viral genomics, and Zoonosis/One-Health. He has published more than 90 research papers and review articles in peer-reviewed international journals with over 1950 citations. He is a member of the ICTV study group on Birnaviridae and Picobirnaviridae. Dr. Ghosh serves as the section/associate editor of research journals Archives of Medical Science, Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Veterinary Sciences (review editor), and in the editorial board of Pathogens (MDPI). He was involved in research capacity building and training in developing tropical countries, and instrumental in establishing the molecular virology laboratory at RUSVM. He is the course director of DVM-Virology at RUSVM, and received twice the CARE award for his contributions to teaching.
