Dr. Nair, originally from Kerala, India, earned his BVSc & AH degree from Kerala Agricultural University in 2001 and completed his master’s in veterinary surgery in 2005 from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India. Commissioned as an officer in the Indian Army Remount Veterinary Corps in 2005, Dr. Nair rendered meritorious service for five years, attaining the rank of Major. He commenced his teaching career at Karnataka Veterinary Fisheries and Animal Sciences University in 2012 in the department of veterinary surgery and radiology as an Assistant Professor , later joining Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in 2015. In 2021, Dr. Nair obtained his Ph.D. in Small Animal Surgery and subsequently joined Ross in 2024. His research interests include small animal soft tissue surgery and canine surgical oncology, and he has guided master's students on these topics. Dr. Nair has been recognized with Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery gold medals in small animal surgery and a faculty excellence award from the Indian Veterinary Association. In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Nair has special interests in applied animal ethology and has worked with Animal Rahat-PETA and the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals, Government of India. He has also actively contributed to student counseling and served as an emotional intelligence coach.
