A total of 120 graduates from a range of graduation years from 1985 to 2016 attended the event. The reception provided an opportunity to meet our new Dean and catch up with classmates, colleagues and faculty. Also in attendance from RUSVM leadership were Dr. Chuck Wallace (pictured below), Associate Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, and Dr. Juan Samper, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Career Opportunities.
Dr. Callanan shared updates on the school and welcomed Rossies, noting how engaged our alumni community is and thanking all our former students who:
- remain connected with us;
- act as keynote speakers;
- speak to prospective students at info seminars;
- continue to represent Ross so well through their professional success and;
- refer DVM applicants to Ross, including their own valued technicians.
This was an opportunity to mention the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, for which applicants recommended by Rossies will be considered. For more information, please visit the Scholarships page.
Dr. Callanan made a special mention of recent scholarship donors Dr. Arlene Rodriguez (’89), Dr. Jeremy Buishas (’86) and their business partner, Dr. John Coyne of the Coyne Group. Their generosity will allow the DeVry Education Group Scholarship Fund* to create 3 new scholarships (9 awards) for Ross DVM students.
RUSVM also had a booth in the NAVC exhibition hall, where alumni, prospective students and corporate partners paid us a visit. Several employers of our graduates and colleagues from clinical affiliates stopped by and commented on how well-prepared our graduates are for practice, something of which Ross continues to be very proud.
