PATHWAY PROGRAMS

International Students

The Pathway Programs offers eligible students from partner universities and colleges a clear educational path into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM).

The Program is designed to advance the educational opportunities of eligible students by offering them direct admission opportunities when applying to RUSVM, provided they meet the eligibility criteria as outlined from the partner intuitions.

Veterinary medicine encompasses many areas of scholarship—from basic science to applied clinical medicine and surgery. It includes training in One Health, which studies the relationships between human, domestic animal, wildlife and environmental health.  A degree can lead to a variety of career opportunities—transportable to any country in the world—including all aspects of food production, safety and security, biomedical and veterinary research, the animal health industry, government service, wildlife and conservation medicine, and private and public practice.

PARTNER UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES

SINGAPORE

In Singapore, RUSVM has three partner institutions offering Pathway Programs including two Diploma programs focused in veterinary medicine and a Bachelor of Science program.  Students from these three programs must meet the minimum eligibility requirements outlined by each school in order to apply for direct admission.

About

About NP Veterinary Biosciences Program

Inaugurated in 1963 as Ngee Ann College with only 116 students, Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) has grown from its humble beginnings to establish itself as one of Singapore's leading institutions of higher learning. Today, the polytechnic has a full-time enrolment of more than 16,000 students with 49 full-time courses and nine academic schools.

The School of Life Sciences & Chemical Technology’s Diploma in Veterinary Bioscience will teach students how to care for, handle and manage various animals, ranging from laboratory animals to pets. Students learn about the maintenance and wellbeing of animals through modules such as Animal Anatomy & Physiology, Animal Nutrition and Animal Welfare, Behaviour & Handling. Modules such as Wildlife Conservation & Biodiversity provide students an understanding of animals in their natural habitats. The program also covers the clinical diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases, including modules such as Veterinary Immunology. Students are trained to assist veterinarians in a clinical setting, as well as learn about the importance of animal models in the search for new drugs and vaccines. This course also gives students a head start in a career in biomedical research. In the final year, students complete a research project and undertake a four-month internship either locally or abroad, attached to research laboratories, veterinary clinics or animal theme parks. Opportunities for these internships are also available at RUSVM. Learn More About the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Diploma in Veterinary Biosciences.
