Summer 2021 RUSVM Alumni Magazine

Jul 27, 2021

In a year that challenged us to persevere, grow, and innovate, we look to the future with optimism. We focus on what’s within our grasp and what can make a difference in the moment. Spring and summer symbolize new beginnings in nature; it's also a time to reflect upon our past and where we want to go. It is never too late to start something new in life, perhaps something that you have always wanted to do or re-start something that you left behind.

Showcasing the depth and breadth of the veterinary profession, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (Ross Vet) is proud to launch our Summer 2021 Alumni Magazine. As we slowly emerge from the pandemic, we have been given a rare opportunity to reinvent ourselves. With the theme of “New Beginnings”, this issue is about starting over, refreshing, and starting new. We are proud to feature Dr. Lisa Roberts, ‘90, Dr. Tamara Qabazard ‘16, Dr. Cora Watson, ‘11, and Dr. Godmiel Vasquez, ’21 and spotlight their dynamic journeys throughout veterinary medicine.  We also celebrate our alumni who continue to develop in the field through residencies and internships, those impacting world health through research, and some of our Rossie family who stick together for life.

“Our alumni have always been innovative by introducing original ideas and adjusting to change.  The Summer 2021 magazine shares some of these stories and acknowledges that innovation is what separates and distinguishes leaders in the veterinary profession proving that our Ross Vet family is stronger than ever,” Says Dr. Mary Mauldin Pereira ’05, Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations.
