About Our Host

Dr. Carlino

Dr. Michelle Carlino attended The University of Iowa, obtaining her bachelor of science in Environmental Science in 2007.  It was during undergrad that she started working at a veterinary clinic and discovered her love of veterinary medicine. She attended veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2014 after finishing her clinical year at UW Madison.

In 2016, she started working at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center and she found that her true calling was veterinary toxicology. Dr. Carlino now works for Pet Poison Helpline as an associate veterinarian and loves treating complicated cases involving multiple drugs, xylitol, tremorgenic toxins, and amphetamines.  When she is not helping pet owners and clinics manage toxicity cases, she loves spending time with her family, boyfriend, 2 dogs, and 4 cats.
