Start Vet School This January. Earn Your DVM in Just 3.25 Years

Don’t wait another season to follow your calling.

Accelerate Your DVM with a January Start

Why wait until fall? Our accelerated, year-round program gets you into practice months sooner, gain hands-on experience in every season, and clinical rotations timed for the best seasonal opportunities. A January start puts you on a streamlined track to your DVM without sacrificing the quality of your education.

Hands-On Work Without Winter Delays

  • Work with animals year-round thanks to the warm climate. No seasonal downtime for large or small animal care.
  • Gain diverse hands-on experience in outdoor settings, from farm visits to marine life research.
  • Participate in community outreach programs with local shelters, farms, and wildlife organizations in every season.

Timing That Works for Your Career Goals

  • Missed fall? Starting in January doesn’t put you behind. In fact, with our accelerated 3.25-year DVM program, you could graduate in May, right alongside students who began traditional 4-year programs the previous September.
  • May graduation is a strategic advantage if you’re considering an internship or residency through the Veterinary Internship and Residency Match Program (VIRMP). This lets you move straight into an internship, residency, or practice without losing time or momentum.
  • No waiting - Avoid sitting out for nearly a year if you miss the fall start.

Get Ahead Before Classes Begin

If you’re finishing undergrad mid-year or have been out for a bit, a January start still gives you a few months to:

  • Build hands-on animal experience at clinics, farms, shelters, or research labs
  • Travel, rest, or spend time with family before the program begins
  • Save money or complete certifications like Fear Free® or Low-Stress Handling®

Stay Ahead Without the Summer Off

Because a 3.25-year program runs continuously, you’ll move directly from one phase of your education to the next. That means:

  • No “summer slide” in knowledge retention
  • Faster mastery of skills through consistent application
  • Stronger continuity between classroom learning and clinical practice

  • Perfect Timing for Seasonal Learning: Your learning can align with major veterinary seasons like summer wildlife rehab, sea turtle research, or foaling and calving.

  • Save on Tuition (For Non-U.S. Students): As a Canadian or international student, a May start can mean you’re eligible for the Global Experience Scholarship. This scholarship can provide up to $45k USD toward your DVM.
