Janel Atasha Williams is a Senior Lab Technician who has been with Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine for the past seventeen years. Starting from humble begins, she is seen now as a stalwart amongst the doctors, colleagues and students. Her creativity, innovation, and expertise in teaching surgical skills has earned her a reputation for delivering exceptionally high passing grades from students over the years.
Janel Williams ' journey in the world of veterinary medicine began 2008 where she discovered a passion for teaching. Her day-to-day duties consist of teaching EVS Surgical Skills, Applied Surgical Techniques and Proctor Surgery Lab 1 Aseptic and ROSSie exams with model creation at the end of every semester.
Janel received "The Pride of ROSS UNIVERSITY award, " in 2010. Completed the Veterinary Technician Assistant program with Penn Foster University in 2022. Janel has successfully graduated over 1000 students in seventeen years. She is celebrated for her ability to teach, coordinate and lead. Her ability to train colleagues in the workplace tailoring her approach to each individual learning style has elevated her to a level, second to none in the veterinary field.
At the heart of Janel' s teaching philosophy is a dedication to her students ensuring they are taught adaptability, accountability, resilience, and patience. She believes that all the students she teaches can be empowered to inspire, engage and communicate as professionals along their veterinary journey.
As a Senior Technician, Janel collaborates with a diverse portfolio of doctors and students. She specializes in building each student individual skill set, focusing in areas where development is needed. Her tailored approach and delivery of the information consistently exceeds students’ expectations.
Janel is currently seeking to complete her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Healthcare Administration from DeVry University.
Outside of the classroom, Janel is a very supportive track and dance mom, ensuring that her children ' s after school needs are catered to. Her favorite quote is Ambition without knowledge is like a boat on dry land. Never let the fair of striking out keep you from achieving your goal.
