Kanae Shiokawa , DVM, PhD

Dr. Kanae Shiokawa received her undergraduate degree from Rakuno Gakuen University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Shiokawa experienced several veterinary professions at private clinics, a pathology diagnostic laboratory, a pharmaceutical company and a municipal office after certified by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.
Dr. Shiokawa studied Rabies and Leptospirosis in her postgraduate program and received her PhD from Hokkaido University, Graduate school of Medicine in 2015. Over the last years, she had been working with multidisciplinary research teams including veterinary medicine and human health, molecular sciences and social sciences in Asia supported by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). These her experiences in both molecular and social science studies have been a favorable input for the Zoonosis Control Expert Certification Program by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. Dr. Shiokawa joined RUSVM in July 2016 as a post-doctoral research fellow.
