Ms. Witcher completed her education as a Certified (now Registered) Veterinary Technician and has focused primarily on veterinary technician education, along with specialty medicine in clinical practice. She has worked for several of the larger specialty clinics around Denver, CO and has been a Bel Rea instructor on and off throughout the years.
In 2011, Michaela earned her MSc degree in Biotechnology through Johns Hopkins University. In 2014, she joined RUSVM in the Anesthesia department and in 2016 she moved to become the lead veterinary technician in the university’s veterinary clinic. She held this position for 3 years prior to returning to Colorado.
Ms. Witcher recently returned to RUSVM as a member of the Small Animal Medicine team in the role of Clinical Instructor. Her focus will be on assisting with the development and instruction of labs involved in the small animal medicine curriculum. Ms. Witcher is passionate about education and maintaining the value of the human/animal bond.
