We know that the decision to become a veterinarian is both a major life decision and a financial commitment. Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine strives to make education more affordable by offering scholarships for qualified students.
We offer several vet school scholarships that you may apply for before beginning your first semester at Ross Vet, as well as throughout your student career. They are a great option because you don’t have to repay them. New veterinary school scholarships are added as we receive them, so do check back frequently.

The Ross Vet Articulation Partner Scholarship for Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), is offered to students who have graduated, or are in the process of graduating, from a signed articulation agreement partner that is recognized as an HSI.
AWARD AMOUNT
The total value of the scholarship is equal to one total semester of tuition which is currently $22,683 USD. The total scholarship value is a fixed value based on the current tuition rate at the time the student matriculates into Ross Vet. Awards will be given in three equal installments over three total semesters starting with their first semester of enrollment in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Vet Prep programs.
Students will also be eligible for a $1,000 tuition deposit waiver, housing on campus at no cost (up to a $4,250 value*) for their first semester of enrollment and receive a $1,000 flight credit for their flight to St. Kitts.
Note: There are 5 scholarships available for the 2023-2024 academic school year which includes our September 2023, January 2024, and May 2024 classes.

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship is offered to students who have a work or volunteer history with a Ross Vet graduate. This scholarship for vet school provides qualifying students with tuition assistance to enroll in our DVM program. The Alumni Legacy Scholarship is only open to incoming first-semester veterinary students.
AWARD AMOUNT
$5,000 towards tuition costs for the first semester.
Note: Eligible Applicants who are not awarded the Alumni Legacy Scholarship will automatically be offered a $500 Alumni Book Scholarship.

Offer: $500 scholarship for books for those who apply for and are not awarded the Alumni Legacy Scholarship.

The McGill-Ross Vet Scholarship is for students who attended McGill University for at least two full-time semesters before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
AWARD AMOUNT
The total amount of the vet school scholarship is $2,000 per semester for the first three semesters. Lifetime cap of $6,000.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must have completed at least one year (two semesters at a full course load) with McGill University of prerequisite courses and be applying to the Ross Vet DVM degree program directly from McGill.
- Applicant must hold a current letter of admission to Ross Vet.
RENEWAL GUIDELINES
Must maintain good standing each semester within the DVM degree program by complying with all academic policies and procedures and remaining current in financial obligations as noted in the RUSVM Student Handbook.

The Eliza Ann Grier Scholarship honors the memory of Dr. Eliza Grier, the first African American licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
AWARD AMOUNT
$2,000 of the tuition cost per semester

ELIGIBILITY AND AWARD REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess strong personal qualities of motivation and integrity as well as academic excellence.
- Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be classified as an underrepresented minority (African American, Asian American, American Indian, Native Alaskan and Hawaiian, Hispanic).
- Must hold an undergraduate degree.
- Must begin their studies at Ross Vet as a new, first-semester student.
- Must have maintained a minimum overall 3.25 undergraduate grade point average (GPA).
- Must be an accepted student to Ross Vet by the scholarship deadline.
- Awardees are selected based on the strength of their overall academics and letters of recommendation.
Note: Eligibility requirements subject to change without notice. Transfer students and students accepted to Vet Prep are not eligible.
RENEWAL GUIDELINES
- Must maintain a minimum 3.00 GPA at Ross Vet to maintain veterinary scholarship award eligibility for each semester
- The award can be reinstated if a student fails to achieve the minimum GPA in one semester but reaches that level in a future semester.

Ross Vet has been awarded a grant through the Boehringer Ingelheim Veterinary Scholars Program. This program is designed for DVM students to gain an introduction to biomedical research by experiencing first-hand research processes and present their research findings to other veterinary scholars and leading researchers from academic, government and private research at the 2021 National Veterinary Scholar Symposium.

The Empower Scholarship Fund (ESF) strives to help keep education within reach by providing financial support in the form of scholarships to qualifying students. Scholarships are awarded to current students who have established a successful academic track record.

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation partners with the Harold Wetterberg Foundation to award scholarships to current or former residents of New Jersey who are pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

Winn/AVMF Student Scholarship was established in 2009 in collaboration with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation. Each year, $2,500 is awarded to a third- or fourth-year veterinary student who has demonstrated a keen interest in cats. In addition to considering scholastic achievement and financial need, Winn selects students who are involved in or volunteer for activities that benefit the health and welfare of cats, such as research, shelter work, cat clubs and other community service programs. The Associates Home Loan Scholarship was created with our future leaders in mind. We understand that college prices are constantly increasing and hope that our scholarship can help make a small difference in one college student’s life each year. This $1000 scholarship serves the purpose of not only helping one student lower their tuition expenses by $1000, but it also is a great way to educate the future self-employed individuals about their options when it comes to self-employed loans and alternative credit options.

Merck Animal Health and The Foundation for the Horse are dedicated to preserving and improving the health and well-being of equines as well as honoring exceptional veterinary students dedicated to equine practice. Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership and a commitment to equine veterinary medicine. Students interested in applying must also have the support of AAEP members and their clinical instructors.

The NJVF is dedicated to advancing and supporting admitted veterinary students in achieving their DVM/VMD degrees. Since 1975, the New Jersey Veterinary Foundation has awarded over 1.5 million dollars in vet school scholarship grants, and in the past interest-free loans and forgivable loans to New Jersey veterinary students. The NJVF Scholarship Program is funded solely by contributions, and New Jersey veterinarians generate a significant portion of those funds. Grants are awarded based on financial need and academic achievement. Upon receiving verification of enrollment, NJVF Education Grants will be paid directly to veterinary schools in two parts; one installment in August and one installment in December. New Jersey residents are eligible to apply during their first year of veterinary school for a second-year award, and all subsequent years.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of President Woodrow Wilson's signing of the National Defense Act of 1916, and the creation of a Veterinary Corp within the U.S. Army, the AVMA and AVMF established a special vet school scholarship for military veterans pursuing an education in veterinary medicine. 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students at the international AVMA accredited schools may apply for the AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans.

The Maine Veterinary Education Foundation (MVEF) is a private foundation that awards scholarships to Maine students that have completed at least one year of veterinary or veterinary technology programs. Veterinary school scholarships will be sent directly to the veterinary college to offset tuition charges.

The members of KF&B remember how hard it was to pay for education to become the amazing lawyers they are today. Therefore, as a way to pay it forward to others, they have created the $1,000 KF&B Law Academic Scholarship, which is in its third year, to help one student lessen their financial burden from school. The scholarship is open to any high school senior, or any college student who isn't in their final year. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the winner’s school’s financial aid department. The scholarship is open to any major, they do not have to be law students.

The purpose of the AABP Amstutz Scholarship is to identify and support the most superior students with a graduation year of 2022 that demonstrate the character, knowledge, experience, motivation, and potential to become outstanding bovine veterinarians in the United States and Canada, prepared to meet the needs of the 21st century. The scholarship provides them with a one-time cash award to be used at their discretion to provide them with unique educational experiences to maximize their preparation for the future. At Emergency Dentists USA we understand the value of a strong education. You do not need to be a student in dentistry to apply! The scholarship application is a video submission-topics change annually. Scholarship award is sent to the student’s college of choice, Financial Aid Office.

SixSurgery, a leader in cosmetic and plastic surgery, will award a $1,000 scholarship to one deserving student who has demonstrated leadership in medical or health-related fields. Student Loan Planner provides advice to veterinarians who owe five or six figures on their student loans. Student Loan Planner helps help borrowers who owe five and six figures on their student loans refinance to a lower rate or make a custom plan to pay them back. Scholarship awardees receive $500 and a free enrollment in the Student Loan Planner investment course.

The Wolfie’s Place and How I Got Into Veterinary School Scholarship Fund offers one $500 scholarship awarded in December. Created by a Ross Vet alumni, this veterinary student scholarship is open for current veterinary students in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of vet school (3rd semester and above).

The RIVMA Veterinary Student Scholarship is open to veterinary students in their junior year, to be applied to their senior year. Applicants must be a graduate of a Rhode Island high school have earned an equivalent in RI and have a grade point average of at least 2.5. The vet school scholarship criteria are weighted 60% for academic excellence, 40% for academic need.

The AVMF is committed to helping offset the cost of veterinary medical education. Through our scholarship programs we have a long, successful history of providing financial support to veterinary students. Each academic year, scholarships are awarded to a student at each of the AVMA accredited veterinary schools in the United States and select AVMA-accredited schools in the Caribbean and Canada.

Zoetis has awarded $630,000 in scholarship funds to 315 second and third-year veterinary students at 33 colleges of veterinary medicine through the Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholarship Program for 2020. Each scholarship award is valued at $2,000. The AAVMC has again partnered with Zoetis in the administration of the program.
Scholarships are awarded to students in all areas of professional interest, including food animal medicine, small animal clinical medicine, research, government services, public health, and organized veterinary medicine.

We are currently accepting applications from Final year (4th year of 4-year programs or 5th year of 5-year programs) veterinary students for the VSTONE Scholar Awards. Each year we will select a Final year Veterinary student from each of the 6 New England States to receive a $5000 VSTONE Scholar Award. Applicants must submit a general application as well as references, transcripts and an essay as indicated on the VSTONE Scholar application by December 1st of their final year of veterinary school. The awards will be given out in April. Applicants must be New England residents, must attend an AVMA accredited veterinary school or college and must intend to return to New England after graduation.

Merck Animal Health and the AVMF are dedicated to supporting exceptional veterinary students. Merck Animal Health is proud to show its dedication to veterinary students by providing $5,000 scholarships to second- and third-year veterinary students. Competition is open to all current veterinary students (includes interns and residents). The paper should cover a topic related to a veterinary aspect of wildlife rehabilitation (diagnosis, transmission, pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of a specific disease; a case report; a wildlife medicine-related study; etc.) and may consist of a literature review, a personal experience, or both. The winner makes a 20 to 25-minute presentation at the Symposium and the paper is eligible for publication by NWRA.

Sponsored by the Race For Education and the Kentucky Equine Education Project Foundation, this scholarship is available to veterinary students from the state of Kentucky in their 1st through 3rd year of study who are intending to enter equine veterinary medicine.

The Coyote Rock Ranch Scholarship awards top veterinary school students with a dedication to equine medicine for their academic excellence, leadership in their school and chapter, and their long-term goals. Penelope Knight, an avid horsewoman and strong advocate of horse health, created the Coyote Rock Ranch Veterinary Scholarships in 2015. Three (3) scholarships of $75,000 are annually awarded.

The Chrissy Weems Scholarship was created to help the future entrepreneurs and small business owners of our world. All high school seniors who have been selected to attend a college or university and current college students are encouraged to apply. To enter for a chance to receive this $1000 scholarship you just must write a short 500-word essay.
