Dr. Clara Camargo completed her DVM in 2005 at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil, and obtained the WAVMA Cert AqV in 2024. She has worked in different veterinary fields including small animal general practice, clinical pathology, and aquatic veterinary medicine (aquaculture).
Dr. Camargo lived 10 years in New Zealand, working in commercial aquaculture hatcheries, aquatic biosecurity management and surveillance and pilot projects developing new species for aquaculture.
Her main interests include sustainable aquaculture production (aquaponics and hatcheries) with focus on food security, community outreach and conservation of coastal areas.
