Dr. Vasquez is a veterinary anatomic pathologist with experience in diagnostic and experimental pathology.
She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. In preparation for specialization, she completed a small-animal rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in New York City (NYC). She then worked as a general practitioner in Harlem from 2019 to 2020. In 2020, she was accepted into the dual veterinary anatomic pathology/Master of Science program in the Pathobiology and Veterinary Science department at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Vasquez trained under board-certified anatomic veterinary pathologists with interests and specialty in the diagnostic pathology of domestic species, poultry, gastrointestinal diseases, aquatic animals and wildlife.
From 2023 to 2025, she was the clinical post-doctorate fellow in the Department of Molecular and Comparative Pathobiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Vasquez contributed to the diagnosis of diseases in laboratory animals as well as the animals in the collections of the Maryland Zoo and the National Aquarium. She also evaluated tissues submitted from animal subjects in experiments across the university to the Phenotyping Core with the goal of providing pathology expertise to translational animal research.
Dr. Vasquez aims to contribute to the training of day-one ready veterinarians in and out of the classroom and support ongoing and future research projects.
