Although your grades are only one component of your application, they are an important indicator of how prepared you are to succeed in veterinary school.

Review Academic Requirements

There is no minimum GPA requirement for admission into the DVM program. Our students have an average enrolled GPA of 3.34 and an average enrolled pre-requisite GPA of 3.34.* While you may apply with up to two pending courses, it is highly recommended you complete your undergraduate coursework with at least 48 credits of college work before applying.

Apply today and you can make an impact sooner. The Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine Admissions Committee reviews veterinary school applications throughout the year, accepting students for our January, May, and September classes.

150+ Hours of Veterinary Work Experience

We require all applicants to complete at least 150 hours of veterinary professional experience or research prior to admission to the DVM program. While supervision by practicing veterinarians is preferred, comparable experience may be considered.

Optional: Taking the GRE

Taking the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is recommended, but not required for Ross Vet applicants. That said, a GRE score is just one way we try to avoid overlooking an applicant with great potential. It can help offset a lower GPA and may help strengthen your application.

An On-Ramp To Your DVM

Applicants not directly admitted to our DVM program may be referred to the Vet Prep program. Students who are offered the program and pass are guaranteed a spot in the next first-semester class. Three Flexible Start Dates For Vet School Applicants

With three flexible start dates in January, May, and September, Ross Vet’s DVM program accepts applications year round.

*Students must successfully pass all courses prescribed in the Ross Vet preclinical and clinical curriculum without failing or repeating any courses, and pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination® (NAVLE®) to complete their degree within this time frame. Comparison to U.S. School is based on a traditional 4-year curriculum.
