Ross strives to produce high quality veterinarians and deliver an education program that truly prepares graduates for practice. Maintaining this reputation is important not only because it reflects upon the Rossie family, but the quality of our program as a whole. 

We are proud to celebrate our alumni who represent RUSVM in their community. It is our pleasure to announce the establishment of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Association Awards.

NOMINATION AND ELIGIBILITY

We welcome nominations for the 2020 alumni association awards: Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award and the Rising Star Alumni Award.


Nomination and Eligibility

  • Nominees can self-nominate or be nominated by fellow alumni, RUSVM faculty or RUSVM staff.
  • Nominees can be nominated for multiple awards but can only be selected for one.
  • Nominees can be selected for a different award then the original nomination.
  • Nominees must be positive advocates for the RUSVM, and agree to share their stories and comments for the promotion of the Alumni Association and RUSVM.
  • Nominees must be alumni in "good standing" and cannot have been convicted of any felony.
  • Nominations are open to DVM, PhD, and Masters degree graduates of RUSVM

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award recognizes the success of an alumnus/a who has made significant contributions to his/her profession and industry while embodying the University's purpose, vision, and values.


  • The award recognizes those who have had extraordinary success in the following areas: professional achievement, community involvement, advancement of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and its mission, giving back of time, talent, and/or capital and encouraging and inspiring future leaders as well as contributions that have benefited the veterinary community and/or profession.
  • Excellence in their practice: clinical, diagnostic, public health, regulatory, and/or military service.
  • Engagement or involvement with RUSVM at some level, such as alumni mentoring, advocacy, or enrollment support.
  • Excellence in service to local community: a humane, caring, helping attitude toward family, friends, clients, and community, including, but not limited to club work (Lions, Kiwanis, etc), church, school boards, government service. 
  • Must be a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

ALUMNI RISING STAR AWARD

The Alumni Rising Star Award recognizes an alumnus/a 0-10 years post-graduation who has already achieved early career success.


  • Accelerated career progression and advancement.
  • Position within a nationally recognized organization or company.
  • Excellence in their practice: clinical, diagnostic, public health, regulatory, and/or military service.
  • Excellence in service to local community- a humane, caring, helping attitude toward family, friends, clients, and community, including, but not limited to club work (Lions, Kiwanis, etc), church, school boards, government service. 
  • Must be a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
